Bang Pa-In, Thailand

Bang Pa-In Palace is approximately a half-hour drive from Ayutthaya, and it is the summer residence of the Royal Family. The style of the palace reflects the eclectic tastes of King Mongkut and King Chulalongkorn. In one area, you think you're in Europe (with the manicured lawns, sculptures, and whatnot), and in the next, in China (with the blazing red imperial palace-like structure).

A golf cart to drive around these paths would be a very good idea, given the heat.

I so want to live here! We didn't go inside the houses though. Just in the chinese temple and the pagoda.

I think there's a reason why it's called Summer Palace. Kasi malamig. So nung pumunta tayo nung autumn in Beijing, extra-extra lamig. Haha. Tapos foggy pa, which meant we didn't really see the palace itself, even from the river.

Onga eh, ang saya siguro tumira dun with the wide expanse of lawns and stuff. Did you get to go inside the pale yellow building that housed the King's throne? That's where we had to put on sarongs. I wanted to sneak a picture but there were so many staff inside.

Hehe, I keep imagining myself with a flouncy gown and a parasol!

I don't remember going inside any Victorian houses... Tour kasi kami so may time limit... We went inside the chinese house (bawal din magpicture), there was a throne room there too, I think.

Yeah... and a bunch of expensive stuff inside! Haha! No wonder bawal magpicture!

Nope. We went to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Phra Prathorn Chedi, and the Rose Garden last year.

What good memory. Hahaha. Will keep that in mind. Planning to go there, just dunno when.

Yeah, I have a knack for remembering itty-bitty details. Let me know when you're swinging down, I'll give you a bunch of helpful hints and such. Must go to Ayutthaya. The ruins are just magnifique.
